I am now in AW's corner. While touring I was an overmedicated freak. Had more fun than I thought was humanly possible. Loved the music, but probably loved the "scene" just as much. Now, with the exception of a serious weakness for Islay single malt, I'm relatively clean. The music has taken on a new life and I am loving it even more now than before, and all for different reasons. No longer am I just looking for the next monumental explosion, instead I am really appreciating the more subtle aspects of the music. For example I don't think I ever really gave Bobbie all the credit he deserves for what he contributes musically.
That and thanks to a recent experiment, I found that sampling the green left me more looking for a comfortable bed than a favorite show. And if I ever tried the tabs again? Well, I know where to get them, but I'm pretty sure that if I tried again I would quickly be reduced to a shivering mass of confusion huddled in the corner, babbling about mortgages, IRA's, tuition, colonoscopies and prostate issues.
